Target Unreached People Groups:

RSA’s vision is to seek out those who do not have a relationship with Christ. We specifically target areas where where no or very few evangelistic outreach events have been held. It is also important to have established, local, Bible-believing churches extending an invitation, that will partner in the discipleship process.

One example of an unreached area where RSA served is La Vega, Dominican Republic in January, 2019. This Caribbean city is a widely-known tourist destination for its sensual Mardi Gras celebrations and demonic influences. Friday night was the opening night for Mardi Gras and the RSA Buena Vida Outreach. 20,000 people came to the RSA festival. Each night, the crowds increased, filling the venue.  An estimated 80,000 people heard the Good News of Jesus Christ proclaimed through music and preaching. Mardi Gras attendance across town was the lowest in history. Thousands of people raised their hands to make a public profession of faith. A total of 20,672  made decisions to follow Christ during the ten days of outreach. More than 100 evangelical churches in the La Vega area added their support to the outreach and are doing the follow-up and discipleship of new believers.

Engage the culture without changing the Good News of Jesus Christ:

The Word of God is steadfast and eternal, even though the popular culture is ever-changing.

At outreach festivals, people are drawn to hear popular Christian musical artist, participate in family friendly entertainment, and see freestyle motocross events, skateboard demonstrations or BMX athletes perform. People have the opportunity to hear testimonies of how these artists and athletes came into a relationship with Christ and an invitation is presented for listeners to give their lives to Him. Drama presentations by team members are also an effective way to communicate the Good News in foreign cultures. These are some of the many methods that RSA uses to reach people at their interest level and share the most important message they will ever hear.

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Demonstrate God’s care and compassion by providing humanitarian aid for those in need:

RSA team members seek to demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed by meeting physical needs through medical clinics, clothing distribution, and acts of service. Showing God’s love in a tangible way,

RSA outreach teams provide clothing, food, clean water, medical treatment, dental hygiene, vision assessments, eyeglasses, and medications as needed. Team members serve the disadvantaged with empathy and respect. Each person has the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and receive prayer along with their physical care.

The humanitarian aspect of RSA’s ministry opens doors for sharing the Good News; local governing officials are often more friendly toward a festival once the team has served the physical needs of the people.

Invite people into a personal relationship with Christ:

The command is clear. Christ commanded His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

“Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.  How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'” Romans 10:13-15

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

The ultimate goal is to go and to preach the Good News. In eighteen years of ministry, more than 356,000 people have responded to the invitation to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. To God be the glory!

Promote unity and cooperation among local Bible-believing churches:

Often the most difficult task is to unite local churches into working for a single cause with a spirit of love and cooperation. RSA has a unique position and ability to be a catalyst for change by promoting unity between churches that are often separated by small differences, personal jealousies, fears and lack of vision, or who have never worked together before. Through the team’s demonstration of love and selfless service, local churches often become inspired to reach beyond their natural borders and begin to see the opportunities around them.

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:15-16

Train and equip teams of believers for the work of evangelism:

RSA works with, for, and through local churches to reach a community for Jesus Christ. We help the body of Christ and its members become mission-minded by providing inspirational messages, evangelism training, counselor training, mentoring, and opportunities to use their spiritual gifts locally and internationally. We are helping the followers of Christ understand both the importance and the many methods of evangelism.

On international outreach trips, team members are often given the opportunity to proclaim the Good News and share their personal testimony. There are no passive observers on trips; every member is challenged to become more like Christ as they serve people in a variety of ways and boldly share how Christ has changed their life.

RSA is developing printed materials that can be used in festival cities to train believers in evangelism and help with follow-up. Locally,  Reid Saunders teaches an accredited course on evangelism at Corban University in Salem, Oregon.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”” 2 Timothy 2:2

Partner with local churches to make disciples of new believers:

Both locally and internationally, RSA prepares churches for the important work of discipleship by providing trainings, materials, and follow up. Local church members are encouraged to develop a friendship with those who make decisions to follow Christ at festivals and help them grow in that new relationship. Overseas, pastors are given Bibles, teaching, and leadership-training seminars as part of a long-term strategy to impact a community for Christ.

In India, RSA has assisted and worked with a Bible college, which trains evangelists and indigenous pastors to start churches and reach their own communities. Thirty-six new churches were started in Pakistan as a result of the 2020  satellite TV broadcasts.

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Ephesians 4:11-12

Saturating Communities through Festivals:

The Spirit of God comes on a city when its people pray and unite to reach the lost. RSA partners with church, business, and community leaders to mobilize the body of Christ for a season of evangelism. Years in advance, the RSA team works in an area to prepare for a city-wide outreach festival. Events often include popular Christian musical artists; family entertainment and activities for kids; extreme sports athletes including motocross, skateboarding or BMX demonstrations; sports zones; dramas; food courts; prize drawings; and multiple presentations of the Good News.

Local churches and Christian business leaders are encouraged to unite and publicly share their faith. RSA festivals have a lasting physical and spiritual impact on a city,  opening doors of opportunity for the secular community to reach out and touch the faith community.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
