Cambodia-Laos 1920x1080

May 20, 2016

“Our God is a God who saves (Psalm 68:20)!” To God be the glory for bringing in the harvest in Cambodia!  In the city of Sisophon, we held the first-ever festival in that location, where less than one percent of the population are followers of Jesus!  After the two-day event, the churches were rejoicing that hundreds came to Jesus!  Think about it — God used this festival to greatly increase the number of believers in Sisophon!

We brought the city more than 1,000 gallons of pure drinking water, as they are in a terrible drought.  Ironically — we brought the city physical water, but most importantly Living Water, as Jesus was proclaimed and many were saved! We were also able to meet with the Governor of the entire providence, who gratefully thanked us for coming.   I had the joy, as well, to share Jesus at a local youth prison where many young people gave their lives to Jesus!

From Sisophon our team traveled to Siem Reap, where we held a festival right in the middle of a huge carnival and market.  Thousands came to the festival and heard the Good News of Jesus.  God is indeed mighty to save as close to 500 people of all ages came to the cross and asked Jesus to be their Savior!

In Laos I was blessed, humbled, encouraged, and touched to have dinner and speak to a room full of pastors and Christian leaders from the underground church (house churches). When Brett and I arrived in Laos, we knew it was going to be dicey. A pastor picked us up from the airport and took us to what he called a “secret meeting” in an upstairs (upper) room. I felt like I was in a meeting with the early disciples in the upper room, facing prison and persecution if found sharing Jesus with others. This is the reality for these Laotian pastors, who risk their lives for Jesus as they share the Gospel and make disciples. It was an honor for me to speak to these brothers and sisters in Christ. Please join me in praying for the pastors and Christian leaders of Laos.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for joining me and making it possible for us to reach Cambodia and Laos for Jesus!  Your prayers and support made a huge impact for eternity in these two unreached countries.  Thank you, especially, to the Cambodia/Laos prayer team for meeting together and praying specifically for this trip these past five weeks!  It is such a joy to serve Jesus with all of you!  Yes indeed, Our God is mighty to save!

All for Jesus,

Reid
