The outreach will be accomplished in cooperation with evangelical Christian churches from the Bergamo area. In early July 2019, Reid Saunders, and Ruth Daniels visited Bergamo and Milan to meet with pastors, and church leaders. The pastors enthusiastically invited RSA to partner with them to hold outreach events and a festival in their city. The Naples location was chosen for 2020, but cancelled due to travel restrictions related to the Coronavirus.  While the churches are small and few, they make up for it with contagious faith and resolve to share Jesus Christ.

This event will be the first evangelistic outreach event to be held in Bergamo.

Italy’s spiritual need is great. Largely untouched by the Protestant Reformation, Italy has never seen widespread revival. And while the Roman Catholic Church embodies Italian identity, Italians are increasingly cynical about the church. Eighty-two percent of Italians profess to be Christian, but only three percent practice their faith and only one percent claim to be evangelical. With the pressures of spiritual antagonism and apathy toward the gospel, the challenges in Italy are great. This has motivated the pastors and their churches in the city of Bergamo to come together to proclaim Jesus’ message of salvation in their city.

 Trip dates: Spring 2022

Valid U.S. passport is needed to travel to Italy. There is no need for a visa.

Reid Saunders Association will make arrangements for lodging, meals, and ground transportation. RSA will make your airline booking arrangements unless you want to make your own and/or use your own miles to travel. You can decide to fly on your preferred airline or travel with the team.

There is some walking involved, but not a lot. We will have a bus or similar transportation to the different events. Also, we will have a day to sightsee and relax.
