Reid Saunders Association believes . . .

We believe:

The Bible, which includes the Old and New Testaments, is the infallible Word of God, without error in the original writings, and it has supreme and final authority. It was written by humans but inspired by God. This means that every word in it, though written by humans, was inspired by God himself through His Spirit.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to divide soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:12-13

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21

In one God, eternally existing in three Persons, who have precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections, and are worthy of worship and our obedience – The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Deuteronomy 6:4

Who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood. I Peter 1:2

Even before the mountains came into existence, or you brought the world into being, you were the eternal God. Psalm 90:2

In God the Father, who is the First Person of the Trinity. His Fatherhood involves both His designation within the Trinity and His relationship with mankind. He continually upholds, directs and governs his created beings and events and chooses to save all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.  He will oversee the culmination of the sending of his Son the Judge and will ultimately receive all things from His Son.

One God and Father of all, who is over all, and in all, and living through all. Ephesians 4:6

In God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Second Person of the Trinity. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and performed miracles. That Christ died to atone for humanity’s sins through His shed blood and that He was bodily resurrected. That Jesus ascended and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate; and that one day He will return to earth in power and glory.

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption to sonship.” Galatians 4:4

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” Colossians 2:9

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5

“Jesus, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand–with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.” 1 Peter 3:22

In God the Holy Spirit who is the Third Person of the Trinity, and who was fully active in the creation of the world and is fully active in the regeneration of those who put their faith in Jesus. He convicts sinners, guides humans into truth and regenerates believers to new life, baptizes them in Christ and serves as their assurance to eternal life. He indwells people who put their faith in Jesus, and is fully active in transforming their lives until the day of redemption.

“Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father’.” Galatians 4:5

“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” Romans 8:9

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians 5:16-17

“Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:5-8

That mankind was originally created in the image of God, that everyone has sinned, will face God’s judgment, and need to come to a saving knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life.

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment…” Hebrews 9:27

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

In the spiritual unity of the Church, which is the Body of Christ composed of all who come to salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27
